@mattheworbit oh I just mean "marriage" vs "civil union". it'd suck if, say, NZ or Canada wouldn't recognise our legal version of "marriage"
@mattheworbit yeah. sadly it wouldn't work internationally anyway, I think? i.e. other countries won't see you as "married"?
@n1k0 @AvoidComments the internet knows best :(
@oh_pies GOODEST OF LUCKS
why? why did I do that? WHY did I read the comments? #neverreadthecomments
@mattheworbit honestly, I'd prefer civil union to be "the" thing. keep marriage as an optional (but legally pointless) religious ceremony
@mattheworbit he was saying "civil union is enough!" but I showed him how that was wrong. he saw my point. wish more people would!
@mattheworbit yep. my dad once said "it's a waste of time debating it". I agreed with him emphatically! told him "just approve the law!"
@mattheworbit it's such a fundamental thing that I just want it passed in as law so we can move the fuck on with things worth debating
@mattheworbit yeah. I sincerely thought it'd be a major thing this election (as it wasn't last time). I'd even vote Labor if they backed it
@mattheworbit it is. it's embarrassing. (it's also inevitable, but that doesn't help _now_). what can we realistically do?
@mattheworbit it's a small consolation, but I care too. I refuse to marry (or even reside there, really) until everyone can.
@caitlinstasey are you pressing the blue button in the middle at the bottom?
@caitlinstasey what you do is add really rad dudes like "notnotjosh" and like things. duuh.
huh, snapchat won't have to rely on hacks for screenshot notifications as on beta4. nice for the rest of us, too
